FAQ

Wondering about something? We've got answers!

Cogito is a technical student organization at NTNU working with artificial intelligence. We build real AI projects in teams, run workshops and hackathons, and turn cutting-edge research into reality.

We run admissions at the start of every semester. You apply through our website – the application is a few short questions about your motivation and which projects you're interested in. Follow us on Instagram and check the website for deadlines.

No! Motivation matters more than experience. We have projects for every level, and you learn along the way together with your team. Some programming experience helps, but it's not a requirement.

Every student at NTNU in Trondheim can apply, regardless of field of study – including international students. Our members come from computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics and more.

Everything from game-playing AIs trained with reinforcement learning to computer vision, language models and robots. New projects start every semester, and every team is led by an experienced project lead.

Teams typically meet one fixed evening per week, plus some work on your own. Expect around 5–10 hours a week to get the most out of your membership.

No, it's completely free. We're funded by sponsors and partners – you even get access to compute on NTNU's supercomputer Idun.

Gruva is our space at Gløshaugen where most things happen: project nights, workshops, hackathons and social events.

Hands-on AI experience you won't get from lectures, a strong professional network, CV projects employers actually notice – and a social community of people who share your interests.

Yes – with Norwegian Open AI Lab and NTNU among others, and we've previously run projects with companies like TV 2. Interested in collaborating? Reach out at styret@cogito-ntnu.no.
